Greg and I have had the privilege of walking with over a dozen couples towards marriage through pre-marital counseling.  From former basketball players, to former camp staff, we meet about 4 times in the months leading up to their wedding and try paint a realistic picture of what a thriving marriage looks like.   When … Continue reading How would you define the core of who your family is?

After stillness was forced upon me due to a ruptured Achilles tendon, I found myself cuddling more with my kids (and I’m not a super big cuddler) simply because I could not do much more than that.  Could my kids and my husband adjust to this new normal of doing everything for mom and for … Continue reading Thriving when life stinks.

I love these boys. My husband, Greg, sandwiched between my “little” brothers. All amazing dads that my own father was super proud of (as am I).

"Rather than being concerned with your own design ideas and forcing something into it, what you do is become background. Just like a parent allows the child to express himself and the parent becomes supportive.” I love these photos that show how Ruth Asawa’s roles as artist and mom were one and the same. She created for her children, around her children, and with her children. Here’s a recipe she shared with both her own children and those in the community around her. #createtogether
“Sometimes good comes through adversity. I would not be who I am today had it not been for the interment, and I like who I am.”- Ruth Asawa.
Home ed history lessons. A big thank you to @thamesdiscovery for hosting our group this week! We still have lots of research to do, but the kids are excited about curating a neighborhood exhibition of their findings!! Also thinking to create a mosaic with some of the ceramic bits. So much history and a lot of fun exploring. Some “sand hoppers” even hopped into our bag and made the journey home with us 😆
We love London but were reminded this week how necessary it is to regularly get away from the noise and the pace of the city. Quick train ride up to Oxford, strolled around town, visited the wonderful @thestorymuseum , lounged at @blackwelloxford , walked through a meadow, saw a wonderful exhibition @mao_gallery , and visited with friends. A much needed reset.
