F.A.Q:
What can I swap? Books for all ages, in all genres, graphic novels, cookbooks, recent editions of magazines, sheet music, never-been-used journals, 2022 calendars or diaries. Please make sure that all items are in good condition (no pages ripped or missing, and no markings).
How many books can I drop off? As many as you’d like as long as long as they are in good condition. The maximum number of items to be taken at the swap will be between 5-10 books (depending on how many total books are donated).
I have no books to swap. Can I still come? Yes! The final hour of the swap will become a “giveaway” open to those who did have anything to swap (or couldn’t bear to part with any of their books) 5 items max.
Where should I drop my books? Anytime until 2 days before the the swap, bag or box up your books (we will be reusing the bags and boxes at the swap) and drop off your items in the drop box at the location given in your confirmation email.
What happens the day of the swap? The day of the swap, arrive anytime between the specified times with your ticket. Select favorite items and check out with a volunteer.
What if I can’t come to the swap, but have books to donate? By all means, drop them off! Others will be able to benefit from your donation. Please read the “What can I swap?” section before donating and email ourthrivinghive@gmail.com for book drop location.
How else can I help? If you have book boxes or book ends that you’d be willing to part with, we could use them at the swap. Thanks!
What happens to the leftover books? Remaining books will either be stored for the next swap, sold, or donated.
